The World Boxing Council authorized the elimination bout between the Brazilian Robson Conceição and the American Xavier Martinez for the super featherweight division. The fight will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, on January 29, and will be organized by Top Rank.

Robson Conceição is ranked No. 4 in the division by the WBC, arriving after losing a controversial championship match to Oscar Valdez by unanimous decision. The Brazilian arrives with a professional record of 16-1 and with 95 fights as an amateur, the fight against Valdez being his most difficult challenge, and from which Robson Conceição feels that he was victorious, so he has not stopped insisting on receiving the rematch.

Xavier Martinez is ranked No. 4 in the WBA, undefeated in 17 professional fights, winning 11 via knockout. This boxer still lacks fights against big name boxers, so even though he has shown us good boxing skills, he is an inexperienced boxer at 24 years of age.
