Mexican WBC champion Oscar Valdez and U.S. WBO champion Shakur Stevenson, both in the super featherweight category, will face each other in a boxing match for the unification of their championships on April 30. The fight will be organized by Top Rank and it is known that it will take place in Las Vegas, USA.

ABOUT Oscar Valdez

Oscar Valdez is a Mexican boxer who is undefeated in 30 fights, winning 23 of them by knockout. Valdez also has more than 40 fights as an amateur, where he managed to participate in several editions of the Olympic Games. The Mexican is the current WBC super featherweight champion, taking the title from his countryman Miguel Angel Berchelt in a spectacular fight where he executed the best KO of the year 2021.

Oscar Valdez defends his title for the first time against Brazilian Robson Conceicao last September in a controversial fight that many considered the Mexican to be the loser, and now Shakur Stevenson is the Oscar Valdez next fight.

At 31 years of age, Valdez has also been world featherweight champion (126 lbs), winning the WBO championship in 2016 and making effective 6 defenses before moving up to 130 lbs.

Shakur Stevenson is a young boxing promise, who at the age of 24 is already a world champion, represents the WBO at super featherweight and is undefeated in 17 fights, winning 9 of them by knockout.
