Mohammed Obbadi vs Jade Bornea will be the main fight of this Friday night’s boxing event in Monterrey, Mexico. Although the main event will feature a Moroccan (Obbadi) and a Filipino (Bornea), the card will feature many local boxers.

Obbadi vs Bornea is a confrontation between two young boxers who are coming with a great performance and very good results in the super flyweight category, where they will fight to define who of them continues to position himself higher and higher in the rankings.

Mohammed Obbadi comes in with a record of 22-1 at 28 years of age, he is a boxer born in Morocco but residing in Italy who has only one defeat in his career, suffered in 2017. Obbadi is ranked number 3 in this category by the IBF.

After his only defeat, Obbadi has managed to string together 9 consecutive victories, 8 of them in Italy, and one in Spain. This fight against Jade Bornea will be the second time the Moroccan fighter will box outside Italy and the first time he will fight in the American continent, and he will be facing possibly the toughest opponent on his record.

Jade Bornea has an undefeated professional record in 16 fights at 26 years of age, with 10 wins by knockout, having won 3 of her last 5 fights by knockout. Bornea is ranked number 7 in this category by the IBF.

The Filipino boxer holds the NABF Super Flyweight Title and, like Obbadi, has only fought once outside his country, this time it was his penultimate fight, in which he defeated Ernesto Delgadillo by SD in the USA. Bornea will fight for the first time in Mexico, looking to become owner of the 3rd place in the super flyweight ranking, waiting to face the champion: Jerwin Ancaja.

The night’s co-main event will feature two good Mexican boxers: Francisco Rodriguez Jr. and Arnulfo Salvador, who will face each other in a 118 lb (bantamweight) eliminator fight.

At only 29 years of age, ‘Chihuas’ Rodriguez has a professional record of 34-5-1, with 24 wins by KO. This boxer is ranked number 10 by the WBO and number 4 by the IBF at super flyweight, but this time he will step into the ring in a bantamweight fight.

Arnulfo Salvador is another young boxer, 24 years old, who has a professional record of 15-1-1, with 9 wins by knockout. Like ‘Chihuas’, this will be his first time boxing at bantamweight.
