‘The Dream’ Devin Haney and Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz will meet this Saturday, December 4, 2021 in a 12-round fight for the World Boxing Council World lightweight title, a bout that will take place at the MGM Grand, Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The American Devin Haney is the reigning lightweight World Boxing Council World champion, and will make his fourth championship defense against the countryman Joseph Diaz. The champion arrives with an undefeated record with 26 victories, 15 of them coming via KO and no loses. While the challenger, who is the World Boxing Council Interim World lightweight champion, arrives with a record of 32 wins, one loss and one draw, with 15 wins via KO, beating good opponents like Javier Fortuna and Tevin Farmer, however, he only has fought his last two bouts in the lightweight category, recording one victory and one draw.

In betting, the champion enters as a wide favorite, however, the good boxing of the challenger cannot be ignored, nor can the fact that Haney is slightly indebted to some of his fans, since although he has won his last fights with forcefulness, he is questions not having been able to knock out Yuriorkis Gamboa who was injured in his foot throughout the fight, and having staggered after a combination of punches from Jorge Linares at the end of the tenth round, giving the feeling of finishing the last two rounds in bad state. Therefore this is the champion’s opportunity to shine in front of the spectators and to raise his hand to call for a unification bout against the WBO, WBA and IBF champion George Kambosos, as it has been seen in his social networks.

135 lb for the Champion and 134.4 lb for the challenger
