The British Conor Benn will expose the WBA Continental Welter Title next Saturday, December 11 against the American Chris Algieri at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, United Kingdom. The championship is disputed in a 12-rounds fight which will be broadcast by DAZN platform.

Who is Conor Benn?

Conor Benn is an English boxer who holds the WBA Continental Welter Title which he has defended 6 times. At 25 years old, his professional record is 19-0 with 12 wins by knockout, and is ranked number 5 by the WBA in the welterweight category. There is no doubt that this is a promising young man who is getting closer and closer to facing the best in the division, since at his young age he already registers victories over good boxers such as Adrian Granados, Samuel Vargas and Sebastian Formella, which he defeated forcefully.

Who is Chris Algieri?

Chris Algieri is an American boxer, who also competed in kick boxing, former WBO super lightweight champion. After winning at super lightweight he opted to move up to welterweight, being an experienced 37-year-old fighter who records 25 wins and 3 losses in his career, in which he has come to face big names such as Ruslan Provodnikov, Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan and Errol Spence Jr.

This fight is evidently a space given to ‘The destroyer’ Conor Benn to once again shine his boxing skills, this time against an experienced former champion who is notably in the last stretch of his career, fighting his last fights at 140 lbs (super lightweight) and not 147 lbs (welterweight). Put it this way, a resounding victory is expected from Benn that will continue to propel him up in his quest to face the top fighters in the welterweight division.
